It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, Derek. He passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the age of 25.

Derek was the beloved son of Ron & Richelle Tokai and loving brother to Jeff & Logan. He will be greatly missed by his grandparents, Joe & Shirley Tokai of Picture Butte and Les & Laurie Wieland of Iron Springs. Derek is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Brenda & Ray Leavitt, Doug Tokai, Brian Tokai, Pam & Darcy Shearer, all of Lethbridge; Tanya & Mark Ross of Coalhurst, Randy & Karen Tokai of Calgary, Sandra Tokai of Picture Butte and their families. He was predeceased by his uncle, Gary Tokai.

Derek was born on November 11, 1994. Derek was a friend to all who knew him! His smile, kindness, love and friendship will be deeply missed by his family, friends and within the community.

A Private Service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed via Derek's obituary on the Cornerstone website.
